The Israeli-Netherlands Workshop in
Regional Science was held from 4-6 November in
2008. The workshop, under the
theme of New Methods in Regional Science, was held at the Maiersdorf Faculty
Club of the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem, Mount Scopus. During 2 days a total of 24 papers were presented.
We were in total with 8 participants from
Dutch institutes. Most participants came from various Israeli Universities. We
were also happy to have Roger Stough, currently president of the RSAI, as a
guest for one day.
Daniel Felsenstein was in charge of the
local organization, which turned out to be a great success. On Thursday 6
November a technical excursion into the city of Jerusalem was included. A
selection of the presented papers will be considered for a special issue of the
Annals of Regional Science. The next session, to be held in 3-4 years from now,
will be organized in the Netherlands.
